Quiet Marsh

This painting was inspired by the New Jersey wetlands during a somewhat overcast day, late afternoon. I could remember the soft greens, blues and violets of the marshland under these conditions. It hasn't been too bad of a winter here in the northeast but while I was painting this scene I was sure looking forward to summer again.

M & M's - SOLD

This painting was first attempted in oil which turned out to be another lesson learned. Some subjects are better suited for acrylics and some are better suited for oils or pastels, watercolors or etc. Tip: Be sensitive to the subject matter and choose the medium that will best express the vision.

Mint Twist Lollipop - SOLD

This handmade mint flavored lollipop was just as much fun to paint as the last. The image has a bit of a “pop-art" feel do to the light playful background. I find that acrylic paint lends itself well to this type of work.

Twist Lollipop

Some subjects just scream, PAINT ME! This lollipop’s deep rich color and twisting pinstripes were all that I needed for inspiration.

Fruit Tart - SOLD

Surprisingly, I found this painting to be quite challenging. After a couple restarts I’m happy with the final result. Unfortunately, this beautiful dessert was sitting under hot lighting for way too long during the painting process to be considered safe to eat afterwards.

Painted on: Artist quality masonite.
Dimensions: 6 in. x 6 in.

This is a painting made from memory; inspired by the lush marshlands of Cheesequake State Park as seen on my drive home from the N.J. shoreline.
